The Ocean Sustainability Conference is one of the main knowledge platforms of Brunei Ocean Week 2026 to discuss ocean governance, marine innovation, conservation, climate resilience and blue economy development. The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in her speech stressed that Brunei Darussalam, although a small country, has vast ocean spaces, rich in biodiversity, strong conservation values and real opportunities to contribute to regional ocean sustainability.

According to Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, the country's small size is an advantage, which allows for close collaboration, testing ideas and moving from research to implementation more quickly. The conference was held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
